About Speaker

Carlos Kan is a Panamanian Electronic Engineer (USMA, Panama,2003) who holds an International MBA in Technology Management (NTHU, Taiwan, 2006), Innovation Degree (PUC, Chile, 2018), and Master in Public Policy and Management (ADEN, Panama, 2021). Since July 2019 serves as the Director of the National Innovation Directorate at the National Innovation Authority of Panama (AIG). In December 2020 he was appointed by the Hon. President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen in the National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation (CONACYT) as Commissioner. As well as working as a tactical link in matters of Research, Development, and Innovation (R+D+i), Science, Technology and Innovation (CTI) and Public Policies in the scientific committee of several Associations of Public Interest (AIP). Recently was awarded the grade of IEEE senior member.
