Dr. Rena Kass is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Medicine and a fellowship trained breast surgeon at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She designed the Penn State Hershey Breast Center and has been the Co-Director. She is the recent past Chair of the American Society of Breast Surgeons Education Committee. Through a collaboration between the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Penn State, Dr. Kass developed NURSE BEDI (Breast Educational Decision Aid Instrument), an online educational tool that helps newly diagnosed breast cancer patients understand their diagnosis and make personalized decisions. Building and Sustaining a Navigation Program for Underserved Patients at an Academic Medical Center
Dr. Carmen E. Guerra is Associate Professor of Medicine and the Vice Chair for Diversity and Inclusion for the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also the Associate Director of Diversity and Outreach for the Abramson Cancer Center and an Advisory Dean for Medical Students. Dr. Guerra is a general internist and cancer control researcher. Dr. Guerra’s research is focused on better understanding and overcoming the barriers to accessing cancer screening tests and increasing access to cancer clinical trials in vulnerable populations. Dr. Guerra is the Board Scientific Officer of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors. Dr. Guerra is also the chair of the American Cancer Society Mission Outcomes committee and a member of the Clinical Guidelines Development and Health Equity Committees.

Lung Cancer Screening ‐ A Thoracic Surgeon’s Passion for Saving Lives
Dr. Troy Moritz is the Director of Thoracic Surgery and the Director of Lung Cancer Screening and Pulmonary Nodule Clinic at UPMC Pinnacle. His areas of interest are thoracic oncology and treatment of malignancy in the lung, esophagus and other non-cardiac areas of the chest, particularly using Robotic and video assisted thorascopic surgery. Dr. Moritz chose to become a surgeon while working as an orderly in the operating room of Polyclinic Hospital, observing the careful, intentional and efficient handwork of surgeons. A particular area of interest is Lung Cancer Screening, early detection and lung health. This has led to his involvement with the American Lung Association; becoming Chair of the Mid-Atlantic this year and representation on ALA National Committees.

Dr. Scott Owens is a practicing physician with Urology of Central Pennsylvania, Inc. Dr. Owns has been practicing Urology for the past 25 years with a special interest in detection and treatment of localized prostate cancer. He is Chairman of Concert, an Integrated health Alliance; Vice Chairman of Surgery and Divisional Chief of Urology – UPMC Pinnacle Health System; Board Member Urology of Central PA; and Board Member of the PA Prostate Cancer Coalition. His clinical interests include laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgeries (including radical prostatectomy, partial and total nephrectomy and pyeloplasty), and reconstructive surgery.
