Eric Jespersen, Business Development Specialist, JMT Technology Group

Pennsylvania is actively acquiring statewide lidar data. There are great opportunities for developers and analysts to develop solutions for data management, on-the-fly parsing and analytics for mobile applications, data representation, and combination with future site sensor data. This lidar data will come in the form of las files, with data density of at least 2 points per square meter, and multiple points with different attributes stacked at a single location. The PA Lidar Working Group seeks to interest and challenge clever individuals in creating and sharing ideas and code. The presentation instructs on data types and potential applications, not on any particular coding schema or language.

With 35 years of experience, Eric Jespersen is broadly knowledgeable in land surveying, forestry and natural resources, and geospatial technologies. Between 1987 and 1996 he developed a reputation for innovative GPS field practice, trained hundreds of GPS users and managed training programs for more than a thousand individuals. Eric has managed two countywide and many smaller projects that researched and inventoried municipal and county boundaries in PA, contracted the aerial control surveying for the PAMAP Program, and piloted field accuracy assessments for Census MAF/TIGER data across the U.S. Mr. Jespersen is known for his ability to analyze and explain complex situations and markets, and for his candor in public service.
