The presentation has two phases. I. Java script, html and CSS web application with server sided process • Database design and Architecture (Oracle spatial) o Create tables and views using SQL o Data output for processing using ODBC connection (Microsoft access or Personal Geodatabase) • Data Processing o Use of Model builders and geocoding to process data o Publication of feature service for web consumption • ArcGIS Web API/ JavaScriptAPI/ • HTML, CSS II. Python script with CX_oracle module applied in application updates • Python o Cx_Oracle module o Arcpy module o CSV module o Python functions o Create, update and insert tables and views o Inserting data from CSV into enterprise database o Automation o Server sided processing.


Derege W. Kobre is an IT-Generalist at PennDOT in the GIS section and division within Planning and Research Office. His duty is generally developing light geospatial applications and he has over four years’ experience in the section. Derege has a 2014 masters in GIS from PennState University and is currently pursuing his PHD in Computer Science. His background is in natural science and he is a certified GISP professional. He has 6 years’ experience in Photogrammetry at PennDOT and 6 years’ experience in Geology before PennDOT.
