Transformation Lift Off: Soaring, Not Boring!

Harrisburg University

Part of the reason Agile transformations follow a path of increasing struggle and resistance is that they start in much the same way – team-level training, big frameworks, Scrum, pilot projects. While valuable, these common beginnings have consequences we are starting to understand. In this presentation, Dante will explore alternatives to the common transformation “openings”, based on his recent experience with half a dozen ambitious and large Agile transformations, both public and commercial. He’ll explain why many that opt to use these established openings face similar problems, largely a result of postponing action on deeper seated organizational issues. Dante will explain how to start working on these tough problems early in the effort – so that development teams can get the full benefit of organizational agility.
