Getting to Grad School – HU Faculty

It’s now time to start planning your grad school journey, especially if you are a Junior or Senior! Come to this event to start the process in applying for graduate programs. Hear from faculty at HU who will be sharing their experiences, strategies, and best tips for gaining graduate school acceptance. How to Network When You Don’t Like It – Employer Panel Discussion

Professional networking is never easy and for some of you it is not an enjoyable process. It is also become a lost art of sorts in recent years as much of our society has had to go virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Networking though is one of the more important skills to have in your professional tool-kit. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, 85% of jobs are filled via networking.  This discussion will tell you about how to excel at networking, how to get comfortable and how it will help you in your professional journey. Virtual Resume Reviews: Virtual Resume Reviews will be available throughout the week through email. Please email your resume to Careerservices@harrisburgu.edu requesting a review!

Professional Dress Mannequin: Back by popular demand, Manny/Manuella will be back on campus. We encourage students to take part in finding our mannequin that will be located around the campus during Career Week. Students who take a selfie with our mannequin and post to our HU Career Services and HU Experiential Learning Facebook Groups will be entered into our random prize drawing at the end of the week!

Handshake Profile Challenge: This year, we are proud to offer Handshake to our students and alumni. We encourage everyone to take part in a 10-Day Handshake profile challenge, an easy way to set your profile up for success! Building your profile is an important step towards finding your future career! We challenge you to fill out your profile!

Handshake Facebook Series: In addition to Handshake, we are still excited to provide job and internship postings, professional resources, and other important career information on our Facebook pages. We encourage students and alumni to visit our Career and Experiential Learning pages to view job and internship opportunities that we will be featuring throughout the week.
