EJ Community Hubs

EJ Community Hubs 

About: EJ Community Hubs serve as the convener of local organizations interested in environmental justice, community health, and community connection. The Community Hubs will provide a space for local dialogue that will lead to a long-lasting connection within the community, kicked off by this symposium. The EJ COmmunity Hubs will be given access to materials to assist in creating a local EJ event with the symposium, including sample outreach materials, pre-symposium materials to encourage local interest, and materials to assist in maintaining communication after the one-day symposium. We plan to reconvene the EJ Community Hubs to report on local activities that have happened since the event, to share best practices between hubs, and to help plan for future events. 

 

EJ Community Hubs host a virtual local assembly and partner with the community after the event. Help sponsor the event by becoming an EJ Community Hub: 

  • Serve as a local resource hub around EJ in your community 

  • Logo added to the event materials 

  • Welcome at the local hub event 

  • Set agenda for local hub event

  • Determine how community residents can participate in shaping EJ policy

  • Connect industries with communities to address EJ issues

 

Hub #1- Northcentral: Lower Anthracite Area Hub- Bucknell University 

Bradford, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Sullivan, Tioga, Snyder, and Union Counties
