Evaluation Guides Treatment:
Linking Clinical Presentation to Treatment Specificity

This program highlights two of the most common upper extremity clinical presentations which can be complex to treat – anterior shoulder pain and ulnar sided wrist pain. Whether these conditions occur acutely, are associated with other conditions or develop over time, they benefit from a targeted, evidence-based comprehensive differential evaluation to determine effective treatments. Complex anatomy, vulnerable structures due to overuse and the potential for several concomitant diagnoses contribute to their challenging clinical presentations. A team of hand surgeons and hand therapists collaboratively share a streamlined approach to link clinical presentation to treatment specificity which will help participants achieve superior patient outcomes. Interactive case based discussions support expertise in a differential evaluation, providing a structured approach to proximal screening. Creative treatment ideas including progression and regression in treatment dosing are demonstrated.
